Hassle-Free Benefits Meet Tropical Flavor
Whether you plant them outdoors or in a container to move inside and out, Banana Trees are some of the most versatile fruit trees on the market. For starters, their sweet, unique flavor is second to none – and it’s even better when the fruit is home-grown.
What Makes Our Banana Trees the Best?
- First, our Banana Trees are highly adaptable and ready to acclimate to most areas, making them a great value and ideal fit for nearly any landscape.
- Our unique selection means you’ll have the right tree for your area – and tons of fresh fruit without hassle.
- Because our Bananas are grown with care at our nursery, they provide bigger, better results and make expensive supermarket trips unnecessary.
How to Plant Banana Trees
Best of all, our Banana Trees are super easy to plant and maintain, especially since we’ve grown and cared for them long before they arrive to your door. So, planting our Bananas means you get fresh, healthful fruit in the most effortless, cost-effective way.
How to Grow Banana Trees
- When? Plant your Banana Trees during the dormant season, typically late winter to early spring.
- Where? If you’re planting outdoors, choose a location with full sun, well-draining soil and protection from frigid weather, in a hole large enough to accommodate the tree’s root ball. If you’re planting in a container, the directions are the same, but ensure the pot has drainage holes and accommodates the size of your plant.
- How? Place your Banana Tree in a hole big enough to accommodate entire root ball, pack the soil tightly and water. It’s that simple.
Banana Trees, Pruning and More
Because we’ve provided a head start on growth, you can expect consistency and ease for the life of your Banana Tree. Basically, we’ve worked hard to ensure your tree thrives at our nursery and beyond, so you’ll get the same great-tasting fruit, season after season.
How to Prune Banana Trees and Long-Term Care
But it's important to keep a few things in mind – we follow the four Ps: Planting, Pruning, Pollination, and Picking.
- Planting: After you’ve chosen a sunny area, place your Banana Tree in a hole big enough to accommodate its entire root system (two or three times as wide as the root ball and just as deep), pack the soil tightly and water. Water potted Mangoes every two to three days in summer and every week or two in the winter.
- Pruning: Your Banana Tree has already had several prunings for best growth, but it will need regular pruning to manage its size, especially if it’s container-grown. Prune any new shoots that reach about 20 inches in its first growing season, and prune annually after harvesting your fruit.
- Pollination: Most of our Banana Trees are self-fertile; however, purchasing two or more trees ensures a dramatically-increased crop and more variety.
- Picking: Bananas ripen on your tree if left long enough, but you can pick and let the fruit ripen indoors.
