Planting & Care
1. Planting: Plant or repot within 4 weeks of arrival. Choose a location that gets full sun to partial shade and ensure the soil is well-draining. Dig a hole twice the width of the root ball but no deeper than the ball itself. Place the plant in the hole, backfill with soil, and water well.
2. Watering: Water the plant deeply once a week during the growing season. In particularly dry conditions, increase frequency but be cautious of overwatering. Ensure that roots do not sit in water, as this can lead to root rot.
3. Pruning: Wear gloves and personal protective equipment to prune or handle Oleander, as touching the plant can cause skin irritation. Prune in the early spring to encourage new growth and maintain shape. Remove dead or damaged stems and any spent blooms to promote airflow and improve overall plant health.
4. Fertilizing: Feed with a balanced, slow-release fertilizer in the spring and again in mid-summer. This will enhance blooming and support healthy growth. Avoid over-fertilizing, as this can lead to excessive foliage at the expense of flowers.
