Bright Pink Flowers Rebloom for Months
Enjoy lovely pink blooms throughout spring, summer, and fall! Unlike other azalea varieties, the bright flowers of the Autumn Carnation® Encore® Azalea rebloom for months, covering this shrub in color. Ruffled and semi-double, the blossoms attract birds, butterflies, and bees from miles around.
Mounds of flowers sit atop deep green foliage, which turns to attractive shades of purple in the cooler months. Cold hardy and heat-tolerant, this azalea provides year-round visual interest. The Autumn Carnation® Encore® Azalea is compact in size, making it ideal for containers, as well as when used in mass plantings, mixed gardens, and for accents or borders.
Robust for zones 6-10, the Autumn Carnation® Encore® prefers partial sun for several hours a day. Reaching a mature size of 4 feet wide and 4.5 feet tall, this low-maintenance azalea has a rounded growth habit that requires no pruning. Add the unique and vigorous Autumn Carnation® Encore® Azalea to your landscape today!
Planting & Care
1. Planting: Your Autumn Carnation® Encore® Azalea will thrive in an area that receives full to partial sunlight. Azaleas can tolerate full sun but prefer to receive partial shade especially in the afternoon. Dig a hole large enough to accommodate your Encore®'s root ball, place your shrub, and backfill the soil.
2. Watering: Provide regular watering, especially during dry periods. Keep your soil moist and not over-saturated. Make sure that your azalea doesn't sit in standing water.
3. Fertilizing: Remember to fertilize with an acidic plant fertilizer in spring, provide winter protection for the plant in its first couple of growing seasons, and apply regular fertilizer to encourage blooming and growth.
4. Pruning: Prune your Encore® Azalea immediately after the spring flowering if it needs pruning. It's best to prune right after the spring bloom--if you wait too long, you will prune fall buds.
