During the first few growing seasons, regular watering is essential to establish strong roots. Once established, reduce watering frequency; however, ensure it's watered during prolonged dry spells.

3. Pruning: Rhododendrons flower on old wood. Prune lightly after flowering, removing any dead, diseased, or crossing branches as needed.

4. Fertilizing: A balanced, slow-release fertilizer in early spring will help support robust growth and flower production. Follow package instructions for application rates. Be cautious not to over-fertilize, as it can lead to excessive foliage growth at the expense of blooms.
