Planting & Care
1. Planting: Place your tree in full sunlight for 6 to 8 hours daily. Dig a hole 2 to 3 times wider than the pot and the same depth. Gently loosen the roots by tapping the pot; if tangled, make an X-shaped cut at the bottom and score the sides. Position the tree at ground level in the center of the hole, pack the soil around it firmly, and water thoroughly without adding amendments or fertilizer.
2. Watering: During the first year of the tree's growth, keep the soil and mulch damp but not soaked. Avoid standing water.
3. Fertilizing: Apply 2-3 inches of mulch around the base of your tree, ensuring it does not touch the trunk. The tree thrives in well-drained, fertile soil with a slightly acidic to neutral pH.
4. Pruning: Prune the tree annually in late winter to shape it and remove any dead or damaged branches.
5. Pollination: Cross-pollination with another variety of the same bloom time is required, such as Honeycrisp, Gala, Granny Smith, or Jonathan.
