Rainbow Blooms in Summer, Songbirds in Winter
A delight to any space, this herbaceous perennial blooms with all the colors of summer. Since the 1700s, the Cheyenne Spirit Echinacea has graced gardens as a low-maintenance, drought-tolerant plant that attracts an array of friendly pollinators.
Winner of the 2013 All-America Selections® award and holder of Europe's FleuroSelect Gold Medal for garden performance, the Cheyenne Spirit Echinacea is a world champion.
What makes this coneflower so award-worthy? The Cheyenne Spirit Echinacea produces first year blooms in a plethora of colors, including: white, cream, red, pink, orange, yellow and purple.
The blossoms of the Cheyenne Spirit Echinacea are sturdy, well-branched, and steady growers, meaning they're ideal for cut flower gardens. Bouquet enthusiasts (or anyone pining for a colorful landscape) will enjoy the rainbow blooms of the Cheyenne Spirit.
These grand, daisy-like flowers attract hummingbirds, butterflies, and bees to your space. Plus, when the seeds of their brown center dry out, they become a songbird's favorite treat. Simply leave the flowers on the plant during the winter and wait for the winged chorus to arrive.
Plant your Cheyenne Spirit Echinacea in containers or any full sun location to add dazzling hues to a space. Perfect for adding a prairie or wildflower look to any garden style, plant this coneflower with ornamental grasses or other flowering perennials to add whimsy and color.
Enjoy the low-maintenance, sunset blooms by ordering your Cheyenne Spirit Echinacea today!
Planting & Care
1. Planting: Plant your Cheyenne Spirit Echinacea in a location with full sun and well-draining soil. If you’re planting in a container, combine soil with sand to create soil that drains effectively.
To plant, dig a hole that is the same depth of the roots and two times as wide. After loosening the roots with your fingers, place the plant in the hole and backfill the dirt.
2. Watering: Water immediately after planting and continue to water regularly until the plant is well-established. Then, water as needed.
3. Pruning: You can prune your Cheyenne Spirit Echinacea all the way back in the fall to prepare for new growth. However, you can also leave the flowers to dry on the plant to attract a host of songbirds during the winter.
