Planting & Care
1. Planting: This plant thrives best in well-drained, nutrient-rich soil in an area of full sunlight (between 6-8 hours daily). During the first growing season, it is essential to water it deeply and consistently, allowing the roots to establish themselves firmly in the ground. Once the root system is well developed, you can reduce the frequency of watering.
2. Watering: Water the plants when the top three inches of soil are dry or more during especially dry conditions.
3. Fertilizing: Feed the plant with fertilizer annually each spring.
4. Pruning: Remove spent blooms for a tidy appearance. In colder zones, the plant may die back to the ground, regrowing from the roots in spring. In other areas, prune in late fall or early spring.
