Planting & Care
1. Planting: Plant or repot within 4 weeks of arrival. Choose a location with well-draining soil and part sun for optimal growth. Dig a hole twice as wide as the root ball and gently place the plant, ensuring the top of the root ball is level with the soil surface. Fill in the surrounding soil and water well.
2. Watering: Once established, these plants require little water. Water deeply and infrequently, allowing the soil to dry out between watering sessions. During prolonged dry spells, you may provide additional water to support growth.
3. Pruning: Evergreen foliage may be trimmed back in fall to maintain a tidy appearance during winter. If you'd like to keep the evergreen foliage through winter, simply trim back any winter damaged leaves in early spring, which will stimulate new growth. Remove any dead or damaged leaves throughout the growing season to promote air circulation.
4. Fertilizing: Feed with a balanced, slow-release fertilizer in early spring to encourage healthy growth and flowering. Avoid over-fertilizing, as this can lead to excessive leaf growth with fewer blooms.
