Petite Hydrangea with an Abundance of Blooms
Enjoy all the beauty of hydrangeas without taking up too much space! Measuring just 3 feet wide, the Fire Light Tidbit® is a dwarf shrub that still produces dozens of incredible large blooms. Marvel as its late-season flowers emerge in creamy white and light lime green before quickly turning to a vivid raspberry pink.
The Fire Light Tidbit® continues to amaze well into fall, when the foliage turns to colorful shades of red and orange. You’ll enjoy the beautiful hues until the first frost, and even after as the thick, sturdy stems of this hydrangea continue to provide visual interest, even in the winter.
The Fire Light Tidbit® is ideal for adding to gardens, along borders, in groupings to form a hedge, and even in containers. In addition to its long-lasting beauty, this hydrangea is tolerant of heat and cold and easy to care for. Don’t hesitate to order your Fire Light Tidbit® today!
Planting & Care
1. Planting: Start by finding an area with full sun (6+ hours of sunlight) and well-drained soil. You can also select a container with drainage holes for planting your Fire Light Tidbit®.
Once you’ve selected a location, dig a hole that’s around twice the size of your plant’s root ball and just as deep. Place the plant, tamp down the soil, and water to settle the roots. Apply mulch after planting to conserve moisture in the area.
2. Watering: We recommend checking your soil about 2 to 3 inches down for dryness. If the soil around your hydrangea is dry, water the plant. Watering about once or twice weekly is a good rule of thumb until your plant is established.
3. Fertilizing: Fertilize in early spring, just as the ground begins to thaw, using a granular rose fertilizer.
4. Pruning: Prune by cutting back the main branches by one-third in late winter or early spring. If desired, you may also prune in late fall, once it has gone completely dormant.
