Big Harvests of Sweet, Juicy Peaches – Early in the Season!

Why Florida Prince Peach Trees?

If you’re looking for a fast-growing fruit tree that delivers juicy, flavorful peaches early in the season, the Florida Prince Peach Tree is a top pick. This low-chill variety is tailor-made for warmer climates, thriving in Southern gardens where traditional peach trees struggle.

Enjoy an abundance of medium to large peaches with firm, yellow flesh and a sun-kissed red blush. Their sweet, aromatic flavor makes them perfect for fresh eating, baking, canning, or homemade preserves. And with fruit ripening as early as May, you’ll be enjoying homegrown peaches while other trees are just starting to flower.

Florida Prince isn't just flavorful—it's incredibly easy to grow. With a chill hour requirement of just 150-300 hours, it's ideal for USDA Growing Zones 8-10. It’s self-fertile, which means you only need one tree to start producing, though planting more can boost your harvest.

You’ll also love its resilience: this peach tree is tolerant of heat and humidity, disease-resistant, and naturally vigorous. This means you get lush foliage, fragrant blooms in early spring, and heavy fruiting with minimal fuss.

We’ve done the hard work for you. Our Florida Prince Peach Trees are grown and nurtured for months before they ship, with a strong, healthy root system and proper branching. That means better long-term success for you—and faster fruit in your backyard.

Pollination Info

Florida Prince Peach Tree Pollination

Florida Prince Peach Trees are self-fertile. You will get fruit with only one plant. However, adding an additional Florida Prince Peach Tree will drastically increase the size of your crop.

Planting & Care

1. Planting: Plant your Florida Prince Peach Tree in well-drained soil in a location where it will receive full sun (at least 6 to 8 hours of sunlight a day). When you're ready to plant, dig a hole twice as wide as the root ball and just as deep. Then, place the tree and cover the roots with soil, watering occasionally as you go along to remove any air pockets. Finally, gently pat the soil down until the roots are completely covered.

2. Watering: Keep the soil around your Florida Prince Peach Tree moist. Generally, watering once to two times a week will be sufficient. Once the soil around the tree feels dry a few inches down, water the tree again. During times of extreme heat, your tree may need additional water.

3. Fertilization: After your tree has been in the ground for 6 weeks, apply 1 lb. of a balanced fertilizer formula such as 12-12-12. In addition, apply ¾ lb. of fertilizer in the spring before the tree pushes out new growth. Repeat this process in the summer and fall as well.

4. Pruning: Your Florida Prince Peach Tree will need to be pruned the first two years in order to maintain an open center shape and encourage fruit production. Prune your tree in late winter or early spring using pruning shears, making your cuts at a 45-degree angle. Trim away any broken/dead branches and any that are criss-crossing by making your cut right below the dead wood.

Do Elberta Peach Trees Need a Pollinator?

Though the Elberta Peach is a self-fertile tree, it will yield a higher crop when paired with another tree.

Elberta Peach Trees are normally planted in pairs, so they can pollinate each other. This pollination causes your trees to produce more fruit - which means more bounties for you. We recommend cross-pollinating your Elberta with the Red Haven Peach Tree.
