Planting & Care
Planting:
1. Unbox Your Garden Upon Arrival
Once your garden kit arrives, take the rooted plants out of the packaging and give them some fresh air and hydration. Everything you need is included – plants, soil, nutrients, and planting instructions.
2. Find a Sunny Spot
Select a location that receives at least 6 hours of direct sunlight each day. This could be a patio, balcony, rooftop, or backyard.
3. Plant, Mix, and Grow
Start by hydrating the coir, then mix in the soil and nutrients. Gently plant your tomatoes, peppers, and herbs in the grow bag. Be sure to water the plants well after planting. Detailed instructions are included in every kit.
4. Harvest When Ready.
Begin harvesting herbs first (approximately 3–4 weeks in), followed by tomatoes and peppers shortly after. Pick often to encourage continued production from the plants.
2. Watering: Keep the soil moist, but not waterlogged. Water regularly when the top inch of soil feels dry. The summer sun can dry out plants quickly, so check often.
3. Fertilizing: Once weekly, use your Gardenuity® Veggie Serum and misting bottle to feed and nourish your plants.
4. Harvesting: You can begin harvesting 10-14 days after planting, or when mature herbs are present.
5. Pruning: Pruning herbs keeps them growing strong. Pruning or cutting off leaves and parts of the herb stems will signal the plant to continue growing and keep your garden thick and lush. Pruning can be accomplished by pinching with your fingers for the smaller stems or using clean shears for heavier work.
