Compact Hydrangea Perfect for Seasonal Displays
The Gatsby Glow Ball™ Oakleaf Hydrangea brings year-round charm with its compact, tidy form and stunning seasonal displays. In summer, its large, crisp white blooms transition to soft green, creating a layered, elegant look. By autumn, its bold, oak-shaped leaves burst into vibrant shades of red, purple, and bronze.
Perfect for small gardens and tight spaces, this dwarf hydrangea grows just 3-4 feet tall and wide. Its compact size and rounded habit make it ideal for containers, foundation plantings, or woodland borders. Unlike traditional oakleaf hydrangeas that grow large and unwieldy, the Gatsby Glow Ball™ stays neat while offering vigorous growth.
What sets Gatsby Glow Ball™ apart? It’s faster-growing than ‘Munchkin’ and more compact than ‘Ruby Slippers,’ offering the perfect balance of size, vigor, and adaptability. Its pollinator-friendly blooms attract butterflies in the summer, too.
Hardy, low-maintenance, and versatile, the Gatsby Glow Ball™ thrives in sun or part shade, adding beauty to any garden. Whether as a focal standout, a mass planting, or a border, this Proven Winners® favorite delivers year-round appeal. Add the Gatsby Glow Ball™ Oakleaf Hydrangea to your landscape today!
Planting & Care
1. Planting: Plant your Gatsby Glow Ball™ Oakleaf Hydrangea in well-drained soil in a location that receives full sun to part shade (4-6 hours of sunlight a day). Space plants 3-4 feet apart to allow for their mature size. Dig a hole twice the width of the root ball and plant at the same depth as it was in the pot, ensuring the root system is well-positioned in the soil.
2. Watering: Water the plant regularly, especially during dry spells, keeping the soil evenly moist. While the Gatsby Glow Ball™ is moderately drought-tolerant once established, consistent watering during the growing season will support healthy growth and vibrant blooms.
3. Fertilizer: Apply a balanced, slow-release fertilizer in early spring as new growth begins.
