Attractive, Multi-Seasonal Small Shrub Offers Changing Colors

Petite and colorful, the Gold Mound Spiraea will add a vibrant touch to any landscape. Springtime golden foliage gives way to bright pink flower clusters in the early summer with this lovely shrub. Enjoy the distinctive leaves as they change to a beautiful orange for the fall.

Ideal for borders and plantings, the Gold Mound Spiraea is a compact shrub reaching a width of 4 feet and a height of 3 feet. This deciduous small mounding shrub is hardy and resistant to heat, disease, and pests.

Offering exceptional color and contrast to any landscape or garden, this shrub pairs well with many other plants. Use several to add rich shades in mixed borders, accent the edge of a driveway, or even add them to planters. Hurry and order the popular Gold Mound Spiraea today!

Planting & Care

1. Planting:  Dig a hole large enough to accommodate your Gold Mound Spirea’s root ball, backfill the soil and water to settle the roots.

Generally, this shrub prefers well-drained soil and full to partial sun (4 to 6 hours of sunlight).

2. Watering: Keep soil moist, but be careful not to overwater.

3. Pruning: Deadhead the flowers of the Gold Mound Spiraea after flowers have produced and become spent. This will promote re-blooming as the season progresses. The best way to deadhead this shrub is by shearing. In addition to deadheading, shearing will also help to maintain the shape and compact nature of the plant.

Pruning is optional if suckers start to form on the plant or you wish to maintain a tight and compact structure for spireas planted in small spaces. The Gold Mound Spirea responds well to rejuvenation and is recommended to do so in late winter to very early spring.
