1. Planting: This plant can be planted in well-drained, moist, organic-rich soil in partial to full shade. It prefers humus-rich, consistent moisture and can tolerate morning or evening sun or all-day filtered sun. It should avoid direct afternoon sun. Plant with the top of the root ball even with ground level.

2. Watering: Remember to water your new plants every three days for the first two to three weeks. After that, reduce the frequency to once per week and only provide additional water during times of extreme drought.

3. Fertilizing: In spring, use an organic plant food to feed these plants.

4. Pruning: Remember to deadhead flowers to encourage continuous blooming. If necessary, remove any damaged or discolored foliage in the middle of winter before the flowers appear. Trim spent flower heads to encourage new foliage growth or to prevent unwanted seedlings from sprouting.
