Columnar Juniper Perfect for Difficult Gardens

The Medora Juniper is known for its natural conical shape and soft, needle-like, blue-green foliage. This evergreen provides plenty of garden interest year-round thanks to its fine and fluffy texture in the garden.

Extremely hardy, the Medora Juniper is very adaptable to most growing conditions. It can tolerate heat, drought, moist conditions, and wind, making it an extremely low-maintenance plant. And if you live in an area where the deer like to munch on your garden, they’ll keep clear of your Medora Juniper.

Native to North America, the Medora Juniper grows well in even the most difficult gardens and landscapes. Plant the shrub as a vertical accent feature on its own or use it to create an evergreen hedge. It works especially well in alpine gardens and as a border or privacy screen.

For a low-effort plant with a high reward, add the Medora Juniper to your garden. Order yours online today!

Planting & Care

1. Planting:  The Medora Juniper requires full sun, especially since the plant has a slow growth rate. Choose a location with well-draining soil, as the shrub won’t tolerate standing water.

Dig a hole twice the size of the root ball. Place the shrub in the hole and hold the main trunk steady and straight as you backfill the soil. Add a layer of mulch to help conserve moisture.

2. Watering: Water the shrub after planting and until established. It is drought tolerant, so no supplemental watering is required after the plant is established. It tolerates both moist and dry conditions.

3. Fertilizing: Use a granulated fertilizer for evergreen trees and apply it once in early spring.

 4. Pruning: This plant requires no pruning to maintain a conical shape. Removed dead and diseased branches as needed.
