1. Planting: When planting, make sure that the top of the root ball is two inches above the ground level. To fill the hole, mix equal parts garden soil and potting mix. Plant your rhododendron in an area that receives full to partial sunlight (4 to 6 hours of sunlight daily). For a hedge, plant your Lavender Rhododendrons about three feet apart.

2. Watering: During the first growing season, it is important to establish a deep and extensive root system by following a regular watering schedule. This plant requires frequent watering, ideally once a week or more often during periods of extreme heat.

3. Pruning: To maintain the shape of the plant, prune only when necessary, and do it immediately after it flowers.
