Nearly seedless for improved growth and habit
The Sasquatch Dark Green Arborvitae Shrub is a standout for those looking to enhance their landscape with a sturdy and attractive choice. Recognized as one of the hardiest arborvitae varieties, it is particularly noted for its resistance to winter burn, making it a reliable option for cold climates. Unlike many of its counterparts that tend to produce excessive seeds—resulting in stunted growth—the Sasquatch is a nearly seedless selection. This unique feature not only promotes healthier growth but also contributes to a more balanced and appealing appearance in your garden.
Adding the Sasquatch Dark Green Shrub to your yard means investing in a durable and visually striking plant that thrives in various settings. Its lush, dark green foliage is perfect for creating privacy screens, windbreaks, or simply enhancing the overall aesthetic of your landscape. Whether you're looking to create a serene backyard retreat or add a touch of elegance to your front yard, this shrub's robust nature and refined habit make it an ideal choice.
Planting & Care
1. Planting: Plant or repot within 4 weeks of arrival. Dig a hole that is twice as wide as the root ball but no deeper. Place the shrub so that the top of the root ball is level with the soil surface, and backfill it carefully to eliminate air pockets.
2. Watering: Water the shrub deeply after planting and make sure to keep the soil consistently moist for the first few months. Once established, it requires average watering but make sure it doesn't dry out completely, especially during dry spells.
3. Pruning: Pruning is generally not necessary, but if you prefer a more compact shape or want to remove any dead or damaged branches, late winter or early spring is the best time to do so.
4. Fertilizing: An application of balanced fertilizer in early spring will encourage healthy growth. Avoid fertilizing late in the growing season to prevent new growth from becoming susceptible to winter damage.
