Planting & Care
1. Planting: Plant or repot within 4 weeks of arrival. Choose a location that receives full sun to partial shade and has well-draining soil. Space plants about 18-24 inches apart to allow for their mature size and ensure air circulation.
2. Watering: Water your Helenium regularly, especially during dry spells. Keep the soil consistently moist but not soggy. Established plants are somewhat drought-tolerant but will perform best with consistent moisture.
3. Pruning: To encourage bushier growth and more prolific blooms, prune back stems by one-third in early spring. Deadheading spent flowers throughout the blooming season will promote additional flowering.
4. Fertilizing: In early spring, apply a balanced slow-release fertilizer to support robust growth. A light feeding in mid-summer can further enhance flowering, but be cautious not to over-fertilize.
