A slender silhouette for striking landscapes

The Satellite Bosnian Pine Tree offers a distinctive narrow and columnar growth habit, making it an excellent choice for tight spaces or more structured gardens. It grows up to 8 feet tall in 10 years, getting up to 20 feet at maturity in ideal locations. With the ability to thrive at altitudes up to 6,000 feet, this resilient tree brings a touch of elegance while withstanding various environmental conditions. Bosnian pines thrive in cold climates with cool, mild summers. Its dark green, needle-like foliage provides year-round interest and a lush backdrop, adding depth to your landscape.

Planting the Satellite Bosnian Pine can enhance not just the aesthetic of your yard but also its functionality. Whether used as a windbreak, privacy screen, or statement piece, this tree commands attention without overwhelming your existing plantings. Its adaptability to clay or sandy soil and low maintenance requirements further make it a perfect fit for gardeners seeking both beauty and practicality in their outdoor spaces.

Planting & Care

1. Planting: Plant or repot within 4 weeks of arrival. Remove the stake and ties at planting, as these are only for shipping. Choose a location with well-drained soil and full sun. Dig a hole that's twice as wide as the root ball and slightly shallower to encourage root spreading. Place the rootball and in the center of the hole and backfill with native soil.  Spread a 3 inch layer of mulch 3 feet around the tree, pulling the mulch back some from the trunk.

2. Watering: Water the tree deeply twice a week during the first growing season. After establishment, reduce frequency but ensure it gets water during dry spells. Overwatering can lead to root rot, so let the soil dry out slightly between watering.

3. Pruning: Prune the Satellite Bosnian Pine in late winter or early spring to maintain its shape and encourage healthy growth. Remove any dead or damaged branches, and thin overcrowded areas to improve air circulation and light penetration.

4. Fertilizing: Fertilize in early spring with a balanced, slow-release fertilizer to promote growth and overall health. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions for application rates and ensure not to over-fertilize, which can damage the roots.
