A beautifully narrow and striking addition to your landscape

The Slenderina features an elegant, weeping form of Colorado blue spruce that stands out with its rich, silvery-blue needles. Its graceful, narrow profile makes it an exceptional choice for smaller yards or as a focal point in larger landscapes. The unique architecture of the branches creates a stunning visual, making it an eye-catching specimen plant that draws admiration year-round.

Introduced by Eshraghi Nursery, this variety is not just beautiful; it’s also a hardy tree that thrives in cooler climates. Planting Slenderina enhances your garden's aesthetic appeal while providing a robust tree that can withstand the elements. It serves well as a standalone feature or can complement other plantings beautifully. Whether dressed in fresh snow or basking in summer sun, the Slenderina remains a captivating presence in any outdoor space.

Planting & Care

1. Planting: Plant or repot within 4 weeks of arrival. Remove the stake and ties at planting, as these are only for shipping. Select a location with full sun to partial shade and well-drained soil. Dig a hole twice the width of the root ball and ensure the top of the root ball is slightly above ground level.  Position a stake just outside the rootball, then backfill with native soil and compost. Tie the strongest branch to the stake with a soft, flexible material.  This will help train the tree into a columnar form. Spread a three inch layer of mulch three feet around the tree, pulling the mulch back a few inches from the trunk.

2. Watering: Water regularly during the first two growing seasons to establish roots. Once established, this tree is drought-tolerant but will benefit from deep watering during dry periods, especially in summer.

3. Pruning: Prune in late winter or early spring to maintain shape and remove any dead or damaged branches. Avoid excessive pruning, as it can affect the natural weeping form.

4. Fertilizing: Fertilize in early spring with a balanced, slow-release fertilizer to support growth. Avoid over-fertilizing, as it can lead to excessive growth that may not maintain the tree's desired shape.
