Planting & Care
1. Planting: Plant or repot within 4 weeks of arrival. Choose a sunny spot with well-draining soil, and dig a hole slightly larger than the plant's root ball. Place the plant in the hole, fill in with soil, and gently pat down to eliminate air pockets. Water well after planting.
2. Watering: Water deeply once a week during dry spells, especially in the first season to establish roots. Once established, the plant is fairly drought-tolerant, but regular watering enhances bloom quality.
3. Pruning: Deadheading spent flowers encourages more blooms and prevents the plant from becoming leggy. In late fall, cut back the foliage to about 4 inches above the ground to prepare for winter.
4. Fertilizing: Fertilize in early spring with a balanced, slow-release fertilizer to promote healthy growth and vibrant blooms throughout the summer.
