Head-Turning Salmon-Pink Flowers
Elevate your garden with the Fashion Azalea, an evergreen shrub that lives up to its stylish name. This azalea bursts into life each spring with an abundance of vibrant salmon-pink flowers, accented by subtle reddish-purple spots, creating a striking display that lasts throughout the season.
The Fashion Azalea isn’t just about beautiful blooms, it’s also highly resilient. This variety is both heat and cold-tolerant, making it a versatile choice for various climates. The shrub’s dark green foliage provides year-round beauty, with new growth often displaying a coppery hue for added interest.
Reaching a mature height and width of 5-6 feet, the Fashion Azalea is perfect for creating impressive borders, low screens, or as a standout feature in shade gardens. It thrives in well-drained, highly acidic soil rich in organic matter, making it indispensable in landscapes where other shrubs might struggle.
The Fashion Azalea is even a magnet for pollinators like butterflies, bees, and hummingbirds, attracting life and movement to your garden. Add a truly fashionable show-stopper to your garden with the Fashion Azalea.
Planting & Care
1. Planting: For best results, plant your Fashion Azalea in the spring or fall, avoiding freezing or extremely hot temperatures. Choose a spot that receives full sunlight with well-drained, acidic soil.
Loosen the soil thoroughly before planting, especially in heavy clay, to improve drainage. Dig a hole twice the size of the rootball, then backfill the hole, and water to establish.
2. Watering: Keep the soil consistently moist but not soggy. Water deeply after planting and during dry periods, especially in the first year. Once established, your azalea will require less frequent watering but will still appreciate regular moisture, especially during hot, dry spells.
3. Fertilizing: Use a fertilizer designed for acid-loving plants in late winter or early spring.
4. Pruning: Pruning is optional, but if you decide to, do so after the blooming season, trimming no more than one-third of the plant’s size to maintain its shape and encourage new growth.
