Pollination Info
Honey Jar Jujube Tree Pollination
Honey Jar Jujube Trees are self-fertile. You will get fruit with only one plant. However, adding an additional Honey Jar Jujube Tree will drastically increase the size of your crop.
Planting & Care
1. Planting: Plant in an area where your Honey Jar Jujube can receive full sunlight (between 6-8 hours per day) in well-drained soil. Ensure it has enough room for growth away from other plants and tree. To plant in the ground, check the roots to make sure they’re moist. You can add moistening elements, such as wood chips, before planting to provide the proper dampness. Then, dig a hole large enough for the roots without bending, and insert the tree at the right soil level so the roots are covered and moist, but not bent. Slowly but thoroughly water the soil monthly until it breaks dormancy.
2. Watering: Though this tree is drought-tolerant, water regularly to ensure healthy plant growth.
3. Fertilizing: To improve fertility, top dress with fertilizer or compost.
4. Pruning: Pruning as needed in winter by removing root suckers, in order to produce an open and airy tree.
5. Pollination: Though this plant is self-fertile, you may plant other Jujube varieties to multiply your fruits.
