Tropical Fruit with a Hint of Peanut Butter!
Why Peanut Butter Trees?
You won't find these one-of-a-kind fruits at the grocery store! The Peanut Butter Fruit Tree is a unique tropical specimen you'll have to see (and taste!) to believe.
The Peanut Butter Fruit Tree, or Bunchosia argentea, is a South American native that blooms with clusters of bright yellow flowers. Once plants reach maturity, those blooms will produce olive-sized oval fruits that ripen to a deep, glossy orange-red. The soft, sweet fruits have a unique taste that's reminiscent of peanut butter - and a texture that's similar to a fig.
Each Peanut Butter Fruit Tree will produce two fruits per flower stem. These hot-weather lovers will fruit best in warm, sunny climates - but they can be container-planted in cooler areas and brought inside in the winter.

Pollination Info
Peanut Butter Fruit Tree Pollination
Peanut Butter Fruit Trees are self-fertile. You will get fruit with only one plant. However, adding an additional Peanut Butter Fruit Tree will drastically increase the size of your crop.
Planting & Care
1. Planting: First, select a location with well-drained soil and full sun to partial sun (about 4 to 8 hours of sunlight per day).
When you’re ready to plant, dig a hole that’s about two times the size of your plant’s root ball, in terms of width, place the Peanut Butter Fruit Tree in the hole, and backfill the soil. Finally, water the area to settle your Peanut Butter Tree’s roots.
In colder climates, you can plant your Peanut Butter Tree in a pot. Select a pot that's about twice the size of your tree's shipped container, fill with organic soil, and place your tree in its pot. Move your pot inside when temperatures drop in winter.
Note: This product grows best in well-draining soil. When you receive your plant, you may notice small, white beads or rocks in the soil - this medium is added to increase drainage and keep your plant happy and healthy!
2. Watering: A tropical grower, your Peanut Butter Fruit Tree will prefer rich, moist soil. Water regularly, especially when the tree is establishing, keeping the soil evenly moist.
3. Fertilizing: Apply a well-balanced, slow-release fertilizer three times a year. Unfertilized Peanut Butter Fruit Trees will grow more slowly - however, too much or low-quality fertilizer can harm your tree, so use a trusted brand.
