Planting & Care
1. Planting: Mexican Feather Grass is known for its sun-loving growth, so ensure you choose a sunny locale to plant. Also, well-drained soil is important.
When you’re ready to plant, dig a hole in the ground or your container that’s at least two times the width of your plant’s root ball. After placing, back fill the soil, tamp down to ensure air pockets are eliminated, and water.
2. Watering: Though it’s drought tolerant, Mexican Feather Grass needs to be watered regularly during its first growing season (approximately once weekly). If you’re not sure when to water, simply check its soil (2 to 3 inches down) for dryness. Once your plant is established, watering can be reduced.
3. Pruning: Deadheading is not necessary. However, we do recommend that you remove or rake out dead foliage from your Mexican Feather Grass during the dormant season, in winter, before new foliage emerges.
