Planting & Care
1. Planting: First, select a location with well-drained soil and full sun – any area with about 6 to 8 hours of sunlight is perfect. The Creeping Rosemary performs best on slopes and banks that need erosion control, or walls and planters where it can grow downward. And if you’re planting as groundcover, place Creeping Rosemary plants about 5 feet apart, or closer if you want faster coverage. Also, mulching can control weeds.
When you’re ready to plant your Creeping Rosemary, dig a hole that’s about one and a half to two times the size of your plant’s root ball, place the plant in the hole, back fill the soil and water to settle the roots.
2. Watering: Once established, your Creeping Rosemary is drought tolerant, but it’s important to have a regular watering schedule for the first few growing seasons. Water about once weekly or more often in extreme heat and check the surrounding soil…if the surrounding soil is dry 2 inches down, it’s time to water your plant.
3. Pruning: Prune your Creeping Rosemary during spring, before new growth begins.
