Velvety Red Blooms That Add Drama to Every Garden
For lovers of dramatic, deep-hued roses, the Dark Night™ Rose Shrub is a must-have. This uniquely colored rose showcases velvety red petals with a striking cream-yellow reverse, offering a bold contrast that stands out in any garden. Even in the heat, Dark Night™ maintains its rich color and large 4-inch blooms.
The rose bush arrives dormant in eco-friendly fiber pots, making it simple and sustainable to plant in your garden.
With its classic Hybrid Tea form and cup-like blooms, the Dark Night™ brings elegance and beauty to beds, borders, and cutting gardens alike. The high-centered buds open to reveal 40+ full petals on each flower, while its dark green, glossy foliage enhances its allure. Known for its above-average disease resistance and ability to produce an abundance of blooms, this rose performs consistently throughout the season.
Ideal for cutting or showcasing in an exhibition garden, the Dark Night™ blooms repeatedly from spring to fall. This cold-hardy, disease-resistant variety thrives in challenging climates and continues to bloom even in the hottest weather.
The Dark Night™ Rose shrub arrives in a sustainable, biodegradable Fiber Pot, ready to be planted between January and March. Add this dramatic, heat-tolerant rose to your garden for a season-long show of unforgettable beauty.
Planting & Care
1. Planting: Choose a sunny spot in your garden with well-draining soil. These roses thrive with at least 6 hours of sunlight per day. For best results, plant in your garden from January through March. These roses arrive dormant in biodegradable Fiber Pots, which can be planted directly into the soil.
Dig a hole twice as wide and just as deep as the pot. Place the rose, (fiber pot and all), into the hole and backfill with soil, ensuring the base of the plant is level with the ground. Water immediately after planting to help the roots establish.
2. Watering: Water deeply once or twice a week, depending on weather conditions. Ensure the soil is moist but not waterlogged. During hot, dry periods, increase watering frequency. Water at the base of the plant to keep the foliage dry and prevent disease.
3. Fertilizing: Fertilize in early spring as new growth begins, and again after the first bloom cycle. Apply a balanced rose fertilizer according to the package instructions, spreading it evenly around the base of the plant and watering it in well.
4. Pruning: Prune your Dark Night™ Rose Shrub in late winter or early spring before new growth begins. Remove any dead, damaged, or diseased wood.
