Fall in Love With Electric-Red, Bell-Shaped Blooms
Add a burst of color to your garden with the Electric Love® Weigela. This remarkable shrub is the first dark-leaved weigela with true-red flowers available on the market, offering a stunning contrast. Vibrant red bell flowers against the deep green foliage creates a unique and striking visual that stands out in any landscape.
Known for its disease-resistant, pest-resistant, and drought-tolerant nature, this shrub requires minimal maintenance, making it a perfect choice for gardeners of all skill levels. Its compact size makes it ideal for various uses, including as a mass planting, a low garden bed border, or even in containers.
One of the standout features of the Electric Love® Weigela is its ability to attract pollinators. They are naturally drawn to its vibrant red blooms, adding more biodiversity to your garden. Plant this weigela in a sunny spot (at least five hours of sunlight) to maximize its blooming potential.
This low-maintenance beauty offers heavy blooming and long-lasting flowers, providing continuous interest throughout the growing season. Whether used as a stunning focal point, a colorful border, or a unique container plant, Electric Love® Weigela is a one-of-a-kind addition to your outdoor space.
Planting & Care
1. Planting: Weigelas love the sun but can stand partial shade and still bloom. Make sure your Electric Love is planted in a spot that receives at least five hours of direct sunlight, though.
They prefer a loose, fertile, well-draining soil. Dig a hole about twice the container's width and place it in the ground so that the top edge of the rootball is at or slightly above ground level. Backfill with soil and water to establish.
Note: If planting more than one, make sure your Electric Love Weigela has room to spread, being mindful of nearby structures. Place each weigela in a mass planting or border about 2 to 3 feet apart.
2. Watering: Water your Weigela immediately and regularly, especially in its first year. Water only when the soil dries out; don’t let them sit in soggy soil.
Add some mulch around the bottom root zone of the plant (but not up against it) to help hold in moisture.
3. Pruning: To encourage rebloom, trim lightly just after the first blooms have finished.
4. Fertilizing: You can give your Weigela an application of slow-release fertilizer once in late winter or early spring.
