Enjoy Sunset Blooms All Summer Long
Anyone can have a hint of the tropics by adding a Fiesta Hibiscus to their garden this year. When the flower begins to bloom, the petals first appear bright orange. Slowly, the plant changes color to a deep red and pink center for a multi-colored exotic bloom. It’s 100% reminiscent of a Hawaiian sunset!
Fiesta Hibiscuses are typically grown in containers where they can be brought indoors for the winter. They bloom heavily from spring to fall, offering a ton of bright color throughout the whole growing season. Bees, butterflies, and birds are also enticed by its blooms.
The Fiesta Hibiscus grows in a bushy shape, keeping a tidy appearance. They require minimal care beyond their moderate watering needs.

Planting & Care
1. Planting: In most places, the Fiesta Hibiscus is planted in a container where it can be brought indoors in the winter. It cannot handle temperatures below 50°F, so all colder areas should grow the Fiesta Hibiscus in a container.
Don’t plant the Fiesta Hibiscus any deeper than the original container to avoid stem rot. Plant it in rich, well-draining soil. If planting directly in the garden, ensure it has at least 3 ft. of space between other plants and structures.
The Fiesta Hibiscus prefers full sun but can handle shade (it will produce fewer flowers in the shade). Hot climates should avoid planting the shrub in an area where the hot afternoon sun will hit it, as this can burn the leaves.
2. Watering: The Fiesta Hibiscus may be considered a thirsty plant but generally has moderate watering needs. If planted in a container, it will require frequent watering. Check daily during hot weather. Avoid waterlogged soil.
3. Fertilizing: To encourage more flowers, add a slow-release fertilizer every other month during the spring and summer. Alternatively, you can apply a liquid fertilizer twice a month. Do not fertilize in the dormant season.
