Eye-Catching Pink Flowers Brighten Winter Gardens

The FrostKiss™ Penny's Pink® Hellebore bids farewell to the last days of winter with its signature rosy pink blooms. Named after famed British garden writer and designer Penelope Hobhouse, this remarkable Hellebore offers a show of colors throughout the seasons.

The long-lasting, purple-pink blossoms of Penny’s Pink® will brighten up any landscape. This evergreen perennial is also known for its vibrant foliage, which welcomes spring with bronze-green hues accented by pink veins and purple stems before deepening to a full green palette.

Tolerant of frost and unappetizing to deer, the Penny’s Pink® signature flowers attract pollinators beginning in early spring. Known for their resistance to disease, Hellebore varieties thrive when planted in partial shade and moist, well-drained soil. Add this ever-changing display of color to your landscape today!

Planting & Care

1. Planting: Hellebores do not like very dry, very wet, or poorly drained soil. Select a planting site that is in partial shade and sheltered from strong winds.

Plant your Penny's Pink® in a hole twice as wide but just as deep as the root ball. Water immediately to establish roots. Once established, it requires minimal care. Hellebores have deep roots, so if you plan to grow them in a container, make sure to use one that is deep enough. The container should be thick-walled and large enough to prevent the soil from freezing, as the plant cannot absorb water when the roots are frozen.

2. Watering: Make sure to provide enough water, especially after planting. Plants in containers should never be allowed to dry out completely, but be careful to avoid waterlogged conditions.

3. Pruning: Cut back spent flower heads to prevent seedlings. Remove old or damaged leaves and dead flowers in the spring.

4. Fertilizing: It is recommended to use a standard planting medium with a pH level that is not too acidic.
