Blazing Good Looks and Adaptability
Why Green Gable™ Black Gum Trees?
The most remarkable feature is the fiery red leaves in autumn. Without a doubt, you'll love your Green Gable Black Gum's vibrant scarlet red leaves that appear in autumn. This tree is famous for its stunning fall colors. Placing a Green Gable in your yard will heighten the nostalgic, fresh and comforting feelings of autumn.
The fall isn't the only time this tree turns heads. In the summer and spring, the Green Gable Black Gum produces extraordinary dark green leaves, highlighting its uniform, pyramid shape that looks incredible as a winter silhouette. And many Green Gable Black Gums live up to 250 years - imagine the centuries of memories your family can make playing under the shade of this remarkable tree.
Why Fast-Growing-Trees.com is Better

And unlike other Black Gum trees, the Green Gable is actually resistant to the harmless, but ugly, leaf spot disease. Your family will enjoy the shade, comfort and beauty of this tree without having to worry about the hassle of high-maintenance, especially because we deliver your Green Gable Tree right to your door, healthy roots intact from our nurturing care at the nursery.

Planting & Care
1. Planting: The Green Gable will need a lot of sunshine to develop a solid root system, so find a place in your yard that gets plenty of sun. You may need to stake up small, young trees if you live in a very windy area. And the Green Gable loves moisture, but prefers well-drained soil.
When you're ready to plant, dig a hole large enough to accommodate the tree's root ball, place your tree, back fill the soil and water to settle the roots. You can add mulch around the base of the tree for better water retention.
2. Watering: During the first few weeks, water your tree twice a week for 45 minutes. After that you can stick to only watering during dry spells using the same method of deeply watering for 45 minutes or using drip irrigation for 90 minutes.
3. Fertilizing: You don’t need to fertilize your tree, but as it matures, you may want to increase its growth and production. If you do, add a slow-release formula around the base of the tree.
4. Pruning: You can prune your tree in the winter if you like. Removing the lower branches will make it easier to stand under the tree for shade in the summer.
