Blazes of Fiery Color for Months on End
The Hearts A’Fire™ Redbud bursts into spring with a fiery eruption of dark pink blooms. Clusters of bright flowers attract pollinators and provide a spectacular display for any yard or garden.
The blossoms give way to a blaze of heart-shaped foliage ignited in shades of burgundy, gold, and tangerine. This canopy of color provides interest throughout the seasons, with new growth always appearing in a fury of rich hues.
Small and low-maintenance, the Hearts A’Fire ™ is a versatile landscape addition whether planted as a shade tree, patio accent, or in a grouping. Like the name suggests, this redbud thrives in full sun and will grow moderately until it reaches a height and width of 10 to 15 feet. Begin enjoying a spectacular performance when you order your Hearts A’Fire ™ Redbud today!
Planting & Care
1. Planting: Select an area with well-drained soil and full to partial sun (4 to 6 hours of direct sunlight). Dig a hole twice as wide as the diameter and as deep as your tree’s root ball. Place your Hearts A’Fire inside the hole, backfill the soil, and water to settle the tree’s roots. Finally, spread 3 to 4 inches of mulch over the planting site to conserve moisture.
2. Watering: During the first year, water your Hearts A’Fire about once or twice weekly. If you’re not sure when to water, check the surrounding soil to about 3 inches down. If the soil is dry here, it’s time to water your tree.
After the first year, your Hearts A’Fire can thrive on rainfall alone, but we recommend that you continue to check the soil. Soil should remain moist about 3 inches down.
3. Fertilizing: In early spring, apply compost or a complete fertilizer, such as 5-10-5. Spread evenly around the root zone of the plant according to the label instructions.
4. Pruning: Any desired pruning for shape should be done in late spring, after blooming is complete.
