Juicy Red Limes on a Hardy, Low-Maintenance Tree

The Red Lime Tree offers a juicy (and not too tart) lime in an exciting reddish-orange color. Easily grow your own citrus fruit with this low-maintenance, cold-hardy plant. Limes will start out green and ripen to a deep reddish-orange color, inside and out.

This heavy-blooming variety is self-pollinating and easy to care for. It’s an exotic hybrid cross of kumquat and Rangpur lime for a bold, delicious flavor. And who can resist that bright color?

Plus, this plant is cold-hardy and fragrant with a gorgeous autumn color. Bite into this fresh fruit for the classic lime taste in a delightfully new color. Anyone can easily grow this citrus plant, from plant novices to green thumbs.

Make your yard a citrus orchard with this exciting plant. Buy your very own Red Lime Tree today!

Pollination Info

Red Lime Tree Pollination

Red Lime Trees are self-fertile. You will get fruit with only one plant. However, adding an additional Red Lime Tree will drastically increase the size of your crop.

Planting & Care

1. Planting:  Plant in an area or container where it can receive full to partial sunlight (4 to 6 hours per day) and for enough room for growth. If planting in the ground, ensure the tree is positioned with the top most roots at the soil line. Fill the planting hole with soil and gently tamp it in. Water thoroughly to settle the roots and eliminate air pockets.

2. Watering:  Water at least twice a week on light soils, or once a week for clay soils. Make sure you’re soaking the entire root system deeply. Water regularly during dry periods.

3. Fertilizing: Fertilize throughout the year based on the plant’s growing zone with a citrus-specific fertilizer, such as the one included in our Citrus Care Kit. Based on this plant’s growing zones, you may need to fertilize up to three times per year in late winter, spring, and fall.

4. Pruning: If planting in a container or small space, prune to trim the size. Remove any dead branches, damaged limbs, or water sprouts to encourage healthy growth.

5. Pollination: Red Lime Trees are self-fertile. You will get fruit with only one plant. However, adding an additional Red Lime Tree will drastically increase the size of your crop.
