Spectacular Columns of Long-Lasting White Blooms
The White Pillar® Rose of Sharon is a great tall, space-saving addition to any garden or landscape. Celebrated for its striking vertical growth and stunning floral display, this exceptional cultivar delivers versatility and convenience.
Boasting a unique upright column structure, the 'White Pillar®' stands tall, reaching heights of up to 15 feet while maintaining a slender form. In mid to late summer, vibrant white flowers embellish the branches and attract pollinators such as butterflies and hummingbirds.
The White Pillar® is a low-maintenance shrub that's disease-resistant, cold-hardy, and drought-tolerant once established, making it a resilient choice for various climates. Plus, your White Pillar® will produce heavy blooms throughout a long blooming period of summer through fall.
Ideal for narrow hedges, screens, gardens, entryways, and decorative containers, White Pillar® has lots of functional capabilities. Also, its vertical growth habit makes it a space-saving option for urban gardens or smaller areas where traditional shrubs may not fit. Add height and elegant white blooms to your garden with the White Pillar® Rose of Sharon today!
Planting & Care
1. Planting: Plant your White Pillar® in full sun (around 6 to 8 hours of sunlight daily), in an area with well-drained soil. Once you've selected your location, dig a hole large enough to accommodate your plant’s root ball.
If you're planting in a container, select a pot that's about twice the width of your plant’s shipped container. Using high-quality soil, pot the plant and place it in an area where it will receive plenty of sun.
2. Watering: Plan to water your White Pillar® one to two times per week. If you're not sure when to water, check your plant’s soil about 2 or 3 inches down for dryness.
3. Fertilizing: You can fertilize this plant every spring with a general-purpose fertilizer.
4. Pruning: You only need to prune your Rose of Sharon if you want it to maintain a certain shape for hedges. You can also prune to control the size of your plant as taller plants will have smaller blooms.
