Compact Succulent Thrives on Neglect, Indoors or Out

Why Twin Flower Agave Plants?

With a compact form and year-round color, the Twin Flower Agave makes a unique statement. Neat, sharply-pointed foliage is the signature of the Twin Flower Agave, which is a succulent that offers a southwestern look for rock gardens, mass plantings or even in containers.

Plus, it’s easy to grow. From coastal areas to desert climates, the Twin Flower thrives in tough conditions. It takes on drought like a champ once established, only requiring extra water in extreme heat. Even better? When this slow, effortless grower reaches maturity, you’ll see masses of tiny yellow blooms. These flowers grow on a long, smooth stem, giving the Twin Flower Agave its name.

You get all of these good looks without hassle because the Agave doesn't require pruning either. The Twin Flower Agave is the type of plant that you simply set and forget because it needs very little water and grows into a natural shape that doesn't need trimming or guesswork.

Planting & Care

1. Planting: First, find an area with full sun (6 to 8 hours of sunlight) and well-drained soil, or select a container with drainage holes for planting. Either way, ensure you shelter from harsh afternoon sun while it’s growing.

Once you’ve selected a location, dig a hole that’s around twice the size of your plant’s root ball and just as deep. Then, place the plant, tamp down the soil and water to settle the roots.

If you're container-planting, select a pot that's about twice as large as your plant's shipped container. Use organic soil, place your Agave, and find a sunny spot on your porch or indoors for growth.

2. Watering: Generally, it’s ideal to check your soil about 2 to 3 inches down for dryness. If the soil is dry here, it’s time to water. Watering about once or twice weekly is a good rule of thumb.

Once established, your Twin Flower only needs to be watered occasionally, or more often in extreme heat. For container-planted Twin Flowers, check your soil and water if it's dry about 2 inches down. Water until you see it flow from the drainage holes.

3. Pruning: The Twin Flower grows slowly and acclimates effortlessly in its natural form – no pruning required!
